It's not quite midnight- I should be in bed as overtime looms ahead tomorrow, but something has grabbed my heart and I want to write while it is fresh...so you my family get to be the recipients of these midnight meanderings of heart and soul.
 
       What is it that has gripped you so, you ask?  On my way to bed I stopped to say goodnight to Raymonda who lives with Tom and I.  She was reading her latest copy of National Geographic before nodding off. She showed me the picture of someone - a woman who was following her dream of being a marine biologist   (one of Raymonda's interests as a kid.)  There was a write up about the woman.  It was a tribute by the Ford Motor  Company, who as a corporation has a program that "underwrites and supports efforts to make the world a better place."  So?, you ask, what's so special about that?  Ford Motor company calls their program, "Heroes for the Planet."  They write- "around the globe, there are amazing individuals who've dedicated their lives to our planet." They invite you to their website, and end the article by saying, "the world is waiting."
   Now, I don't know if you've heard it in your spirits yet, but I HEAR it loud and clear.
     Everyday that you and I wake up and put our feet on the floor and get up and choose Christ, everyday we put Jesus first and self last, everyday we think "souls", everyday that we "quietly" live our Christianity before the godlessness of this world and society, "WE ARE MAKING THIS WORLD, THIS PLANET A BETTER PLACE." 
           AND THERE IS ONE who created, and loved and gave this planet to us.  And then came and died and rose to rescue this planet from destruction and gave it back to us AGAIN.  And everyday that you and I as Christians are in this world, we are making and keeping this world a better place. Just by BEING.           
     But we can be more vocal, more active, more conscious in our doing so and make even more of a difference.  Simply by sharing about the ONE who is truly the HERO OF THIS PLANET, our lovely Savior, Jesus Christ! 
     So wake up with renewed zest and vigor.  Get up with optimism and courage for your day.  Know that you don't face it alone, or with out strength and power to meet the challenges that face you. 
     You have the Hero of the planet , walking with you, guiding you, protecting you, sustaining you and leading you onward to greatness.  Even if its small things (in your own sight) that you do this day-do them with love and they will be done with greatness! 
     Arise! Shine!  The whole world is waiting...
