Evidence is emerging that United Airlines Flight 93, the plane that went down in western Pennsylvania, crashed where it did because a small group of brave passengers attempted to overpower their knife-wielding abductors and would-be murderers. Thomas Burnett, Jeremy Glick and Mark Bingham decided to give their lives to prevent a fourth tragedy like the ones that destroyed the World Trade Center and part of the Pentagon.”  (Excerpted from Wall Street Journal-Opinion page.)

Perhaps you’ll remember the inspirational message, “Only ONX,” from Jan. 2000.  It bears revisiting, for it is even more appropriate today.  You see, more than ever, each one of us matters!  Those 3 men in the article believed that they could make a difference-and they did!

So too, you must believe you can and DO make a difference.  May you never be called on to make such a sacrifice as they did, but none the less every day you too are a hero.  You are a hero to the customers you help; you are a hero to your family and friends when you give of yourself to make things better for them.  Oh, they may not ever come right out and say so, but, make no mistake about it, in your own quiet way, you are making a difference in their lives.  So hold your head up and keep on keeping on, being the best you can be.  And never doubt, though you are only one, YOU can and you DO make a difference!

“Only Onx”

Xvxn though this typxwritxr is an modxl, it works vxry wxll, xxcxpt for onx kxy.

You’d think that with all thx othxr kxys working, onx kxy would hardly bx noticxd.  But just onx kxy out of whack sxxms to ruin thx wholx xffort.

Have you xvxr said to yoursxlf, “I’m only onx pxrson.  No onx will noticx if I don’t do my bxst. (Or, “I don’t rxlly makx a diffxrxncx anyway.”)

But it doxs makx a diffxrxncx, bxcausx to bx xffxctivx, a family, an organization, a church or a businxss nxxds complxtx participation by xvxryonx to thx bxst of his or hxr ability.

So if you’rx having onx of thosx days whxn you think you just arxn’t vxry important, and you’rx txmptxd to slack off, rxmxmbxr this old typxwritxr.  You arx a kxy pxrson, and whxn you don’t do your bxst, nothing xlsx around you works out thx way it’s supposxd to.

To sum it up using a line from an editorial in the NY Post: Americans need heroes in these trying times.”

Actually we need heroes every day.  All eyes are on you.

Love and Blessings To You,
